Busch Claims Pole Position for Brantley Gilbert Big Machine Brickyard 400

Two-time defending race winner Kyle Busch earned the Coors Light Pole Award in Saturday’s qualifying at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, turning a lap in his No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota at 187.301 mph.

Busch also started from the pole in last season’s Brickyard 400, driving from the top starting spot to the checkered flag.

Kevin Harvick also will start on the front row after guiding his No. 4 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford to 186.332 mph.

Jamie McMurray, Jimmie Johnson and last week’s winner, Denny Hamlin, rounded out the top five for Sunday’s Brantley Gilbert Big Machine Brickyard 400 (2:30 p.m. ET, NBC, IMS Radio Network, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

Kyle Larson, currently second in the Monster Energy Series driver standings, did not advance beyond the first round of qualifying, and will start 25th in the No. 42 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet.

Series points leader Martin Truex Jr. will start sixth.
